About

The formula for concrete used by the Romans was lost for thirteen centuries. Numerous concrete structures built by the Romans include: aqueducts, bridges, the Baths of Caracalla and the Dome of the Pantheon, the largest unreinforced solid concrete dome, still stand today.

This is a testament to the strength, timelessness and architectural possibilities of concrete. Standardized building practices throughout the world have virtually every wooden building attached to or held by concrete. This material plays a huge supporting role for humanity. After water, concrete is the second most poured substance.

As a builder with modernist sensibilities, I have always been enthralled by the structural and sculptural, practical and permanent characteristics of concrete.

I seek every opportunity to present this material in a more visual roll in interior and exterior environments, with outdoor living arrangements as an ideal expression.

The climate in California is ideal for outdoor kitchens featuring counter tops integrated with pizza ovens and barbeques, patio's flowing into fire places and seating arrangements. Concrete is durable and easy to clean, the perfect answer to hot kitchens in Summertime.

Whether the concrete project is a large retaining wall, driveway or outdoor kitchen and patio, I find great satisfaction in the physicality of its execution.

The anticipation of applying the finish, of troweling fresh concrete, stripping and revealing fresh formed work still excites me twenty five years later.

I'd like to direct you to my photo gallery. Perhaps your project will someday be featured here.
